Grand Seiko SBGX103

And here’s the image that today’s #macromonday video was created from. A reminder that every single image I post is of sufficient resolution to create one of those videos, or preferably, print large enough so that you could examine the entire image at the same resolution that you saw captured in the video.
The Grand Seiko SBGX103. It’s been my daily beater for a few months now, and has gained just a single second in that time.

Grand Seiko SBGX103 movement

Something different for #macromonday as I take the caseback off my daily beater SBGX103 to share am image of the amazing 9F62A movement. The SBGX103 was released as a limited edition of 2000 pieces in 2013 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 9F movement.
Such beautiful finishing on a quartz movement, and they hide it away!
As if the thermocompensated calibre accuracy of +/- 10 seconds per year (yes, per YEAR) wasn’t already enough, for the SBGX103 Grand Seiko went the extra mile and these watches are regulated to an incredible +/- 5 seconds per year. And – crazy wrist-mounted atomic clocks excepted – I believe that makes them the most accurate self-contained (i.e. not reliant on external time signals) watches in the world.
